Training Providers
Training Providers come in all shapes and sizes. They can be individual self-employed trainers (freelance) or a small, medium or large training company that either employs it's own trainers or uses a bank of associates.
Training companies tender for the larger training requirements such as those of the Government organisations and corporate businesses. This is because they have all the necessary requirements in place to win such large contracts - they have a broad range of qualified staff, they may be registered centres for specific accreditations and qualifications (e.g. City and Guilds or NVQ), they will have various assurances in place such as Professional Indemnity insurance and professional resources including contingencies for back up and emergency cover, which a smaller company might not have access to. They may also have other competencies and accreditations such as Customer First, ISO Standards, etc.
Freelance trainers have the option of offering their services to the larger training companies and indeed marketing themselves directly to businesses. This is more so if they cover a specific sector such as Marketing, First Aid or HR. Many trainers can cover a range of subjects that are relevant to the workplace that are not technically specific. Many trainers deliver only specific training courses and mearning material. An example might be Health and Safety.
