E-Learning courses are a great way to learn - and a much cheaper way too. It's fair to say that most online learning is linked to IT, the Internet, E-commerce and so on, because it's very relative. The E stands for electronic - an advanced method of learning using technology to assist.
E-learning courses can be undertaken in several ways:
Distance learning - where you log in to a website and access your own private area to work on your learning material directly form your computer, then save and submit. The tutor or examiner at the other end can then access and assess your work. An example of this can be found here.
Video and Audio - these are very popular ways to learn now, especially since you can post them on YouTube! Web owners can add them to their own website for web visitors or registered site members to access. Some just offer them as bite-size freebie modules - a trial before buying the full course. Some use them as a way of generating an email list, providing a link to the learning course in the auto responder email. Others provide them through a login area restricted to members, paying or otherwise. A good example of these types can be found here.
The latter example is often used as a marketing tool and you should consider this for your website if it is appropriate for your business. They are not expensive to set up so long as you have a website that can accommodate the functionality required to have video and audio.
