Internet Specialists

If you have been searching the internet looking to learn more about internet marketing and search engine optimisation, then you will have worked out that the best people to learn from are internet specialists. Now you have two options:

1) you can pay someone to show you or 2) you can learn it yourself from the experts.

Paying someone to teach you: these experts are able to show you step by step how to market your own website. That's great if you are interested in giving it a go and have an interest in the internet. You need to be prepared to learn and if you are prepared to spend upwards of £250 a day you have already decided that you have the necessary basic ability to learn and grasp the subject and the interest to take everything on board during the learning sessions.

Now depending on your website and your level of ability, the training can range from editing your page copy and meta tags right through to editing and some coding of your site to be search engine friendly. It really depends how far you want to go with it and what needs doing. An initial enquiry will no doubt conclude this for you.

What do Internet Specialists offer in their training?

Training ranges from showing you how to produce website content, blogs and e-books through to search engine optimisation (SEO) which will include off page and on page optimisation. It may also include pay per click (PPC) management such as setting up and managing a Google Adwords campaign. (Make sure they have the Google qualified status).

How much does an Internet Training Specialist cost?

Never feel forced to sign up to minimum terms but don't expect overnight results either - it takes time to learn something new and usually your learning can last from a full day to several days over the course of several weeks, depending what you want to learn and to what level. Expect to pay around £250-£1000 a day depending on the subject matter and level of expertise.

You can also consider attending group training courses too, and again these range from around £100 a day and upwards to as much as £1000 a day depending on the trainer expertise level and the subject matter.

Teaching yourself: there is much you can learn from researching and learning a lot of useful information from the internet using free or paid tools to help you carry out some tasks, and these resources will guide you to doing your own internet marketing for your website. Now whilst most tools are simple to use, it's not for technophobes or those forcing themselves to learn in order to save money but who have no real desire and interest to learn.

It's something you really need to 'get into' to really make something of it and make it work for your website. Like anything, if the interest just isn't there, you either won't get started or you will make a start and it will fall behind and eventually cease altogether. You won't have anyone there at your side or at the end of the phone to show you, or explain it to you, and no one there to mentor and support you. That said, there are plenty of forums covering the subjects so that is one free area to get advice and help from when teaching yourself. You learn at your own pace in your own time frame...and it's free!

What does Internet Marketing involve?

Internet marketing covers a vast range of things including link building, article submission, blogging and other website contribution such as forums, social bookmarking, email newsletter campaigns, and many more things. Much of this work is actual manpower rather than paying advertising or joining fees. Link building, article writing, article submission, blogging, etc all takes many tedious hours of writing, editing and submitting, not to mention monitoring it and following it up, depending what and where it is.

Is internet marketing a skill?

Yes there is a skill involved which comes with experience and a good knowledge of what to do and how to do it best. Best as in, achieve a high website ranking in the shortest possible time for the best keywords which will bring the kind of visitors to your website that you need.

All that remains then, is to ensure that once the SEO and internet marketing has brought you the visitors, that you have a website good enough to keep them browsing your site and want to buy from you or call you to enquire further. Whatever you want them to do, you definitely need them to convert form visitors to customers. Make sure your website is fit for purpose before you pay for or do any internet marketing or external SEO work.

The results!

With internet marketing and SEO, once you get into it you will be on a roll, especially when you see it working and start seeing the benefits. It's a joy seeing it work after you have paid someone but it's even more exciting to think you made it happen! It also helps you understand how the internet and search engines work, and how and why your website will get found during a search.
