Whether your business is new or not, every year you should create a marketing plan for the year ahead. This is best done to coincide with the start of each financial year so that you can also prepare the available marketing budget and plan in line with what you have available to spend, or, what you make available to meet your marketing objectives. However, there is nothing to stop you planning a marketing strategy at any time for the months ahead.
Each year you should prepare a set of objectives for the year ahead, a 12 month sales forecast so that you have some realistic targets to aim for, and a budget for your expenditure for the year ahead. Within that budget, you should then create a breakdown of how you will spend your marketing budget.
These are just some of the ways you can market your business to increase enquiries and in turn improve your sales. You might not be able to implement all of the above, or indeed all at the same time, and your budget may restrict what you can do and when, so take the time to plan carefully, according to what suits your business. Some businesses/sectors have good and bad months due to seasonal factors so work your marketing plan around these and other factors.
